What BrightGrades does

BrightGrades is a Chrome extension that reads grade information from the Brightspace / D2L page you are currently viewing and displays it in an interactive summary in a new tab. All processing happens locally in your browser.

Data collection

BrightGrades does not collect, transmit, store, or share any data of any kind. No personal information, no grade data, no usage statistics, and no analytics are gathered.

The extension reads content from the active Brightspace page solely to display it back to you in a more useful format. This data never leaves your device.

Permissions

BrightGrades requests the following browser permissions:

Host access to *.brightspace.com and *.d2l.com — required to inject the content script that reads the grades table on your Brightspace page. The extension only activates on these domains.

Storage — reserved for future local preferences (e.g. display settings). No personal data is stored.

Third parties

BrightGrades does not share any data with third parties. There are no third-party analytics, advertising SDKs, or tracking tools included in the extension.

If this policy changes in the future, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a revised date.
